Ben's 3rd Birthday

Ben turned 3 this weekend! We are so amazed by how much he's grown and learned this year. It will be fun to see what else he learns this year. On Saturday, we had his birthday party at Pump it Up in Urbandale. He invited all of his buddies from daycare, neighbor buddies, and family friends to bounce around and play! Then, Sunday we had just a small family gathering to celebrate on his real birthday. He got to blow out the candles twice and in Ben's words: "I turn 3 AGAIN!" We ate scratch cupcakes (complete with green frosting per Ben's request) and play with all his presents. Here are a few photos from the birthday fun:

Update-March

I promised to you all and to myself that I would be a more loyal blogger this year, so I'll give you some updates! :-)

Ben is almost 3 years old, can you believe it?!! It seems like just yesterday we were in the hospital meeting our lil' guy. He has grown tremendously, especially in these past few months. His vocabulary and language is just through the roof! He carries on conversations a lot with us (sometimes with himself or to his toys :-), hehe) and sometimes I think to myself, how in the heck does he know that? For example, this week I asked him something and he replies back "I'm not getting any younger!" WHAT??? This kid cracks me up with these random things. He currently is obsessed with counting all the time, and can make it up to 30 sometimes! If you ever see our family at the store, he will be the loud kid counting the numbers in the aisles.  Does it EVERY time. He also loves working with puzzles almost every evening, and can put together 24-30 piece puzzles on his own! We're thinking with the puzzles and math, maybe engineer someday like daddy? In any case, we are extremely impressed and proud of all he can do and knows!

What about Andy and I you say? Well it's same ol' stuff. Working, spending time with our lil' one, and having some fun snow days! This week we had a surprise with all the snow on Tuesday, came out of nowhere! We liked having a couple of days at home as a fam, but man, was it hard to get back into the swing of things! :-) We are busily working hard this month to plan a super fun birthday party for Ben. Since he is turning 3, we decided this would be the first year where we go somewhere fun instead of hosting at our house. So we chose Pump it Up in Urbandale, Iowa. This will also be the first year he will mostly invite little buddies to come bounce and play with him! We are going with a WonderPets theme, since it is one of his fav Nick Jr. shows and we did the Thomas theme last year (he still loves his trains!). My 28th birthday was last Sunday and we tried to tell him it was mommy's birthday but all he would say was, "No! I turning 3! I going to Pump it Up." Haha. That's fine, he can have my birthday too, especially as a I grow older. Anyway, stay posted this month for some pics from his 3rd birthday party! We are pumped for Pump It Up!

Well, I think that's a sufficient amount of updating for one evening. I gotta run to go work on this potty training stuff more. Hopefully we will have success tonight! Night all!
