Summer Fun

So, summer began for Ben and I together a week or so ago. We have had fun spending time together and trying out different activities! He is 15 months old now and a big ball of energy everyday! Here are some things he has been doing lately:

I'm sure some parents are like me thinking what new things can I try with my 15 month old? Yes he loves to play with his toys but I really want to try out some new things and give him a fun variety and give him some things to explore too. So the 1st picture is our cool whip fun! He drove his cars and trucks in cool whip, I tried to write his name and lines and circles in it. He did that for a while, but then decided it tasted pretty good so he would finish by just eating it.

He loves to tear things into pieces! My parents have said that it was also a thing I often enjoyed doing at his age. So some days I will just give him something to tear like tissue paper, construction paper, old magazines, you name it! It also works those little hands. This is him ripping up some napkins.

He has also been outside as often as possible. He is always standing at the back door making noises which means "Please play outside?" He runs around, kicks and throws balls, swings, and we let him swim in his kiddie pool. We also just got a sprinkler set, so hopefully more pics to come for a new post!

He has also discovered the world of coloring! We were a little hesitant at first thinking he would make lovely artwork all over our walls and anything he could find to decorate. But he has done pretty well with it. I usually tape down some paper on the floor and he make colorful marks all over it. We have caught him sampling the crayons in his mouth, uck. We continue to tell him "Yucky!" and we're hoping it is understood soon, haha.

And what have Andy and myself been up to? Well, Andy keeps working away at Pella, but we are blessed to have him work from home a few days a week. Otherwise, Ben is always saying- Da-da? Da-da?- wondering where he is. So cute! Andy also finished our new shelves in the basement storage so I have been working on organizing boxes and things.

I most of the time am just home with Ben, cleaning, thinking of new recipes to try for supper with my down time. I did take a class for school last week and Ben got to spend some quality time with Gma Kathy and Gpa Rick in Zearing! I will also soon start tutoring a little girl over the summer 1-1 so that should be fun too!

This summer should be busy for us too. We will be having some Nickerson clan fun in a week, some have never met Ben so should be exciting! We hope to visit more family too and maybe take a quick family vacay. Of course, Andy and I will not forget to see the LAST Harry Potter movie!
